Hmm...Today is the 4th day of CNY and many of my friends kept on asking me how I celebrated my CNY in England...Ermm, my answers were quite different depend on my mood when I answered their questions...So, I decided to write down what I had done during this CNY...
Actually I started celebrated CNY on 23rd January, means last friday, my cousemate and his housemate who three of us were Nilai students, went to a dinner which was organised by Birmingham Malaysian Society and all the members there I dont even know them (honestly I dont even know there is such kind of society)...I joined the dinner because my cousemate invited me to go and since it was a CNY celebration, so I just joined lor...During the dinner, there was lucky draw, and some performance such as lion dance, er-wu presented by a girl with a harmonica presenter who is suck and violine...For lion dance, ermm...quite okay for me, but still not very pro la...for the er-wu, I like it and the presenter was good in it...Bravo...and the harmonica, forgot about it, the man who played it suck and somemore, he asked us to stand up because he wanted to play "NEGARAKU", what the...while for the violine performance, the presenter was good, but the song he chose was "Butterflies lover" means 梁山伯与祝英台...sweat ler....The feeling of Chinese New Year was gone like that...
The next celebration was on CNY's Eve, as same as Friday, my friends and I went to a Chinese restaurant to have our dinner (buffet)...At there, there was lion dance performance, but this time, there was 2 lions dancing around the restaurant...Cool man...The food very tasty also...haha...I had also met some other Malaysian students but they seem like they dont want to meet new guys...haha...After the dinner, they decided to go to sing K...At first, I dont want to go because I had spent a lot of pounds in these celebration, but my friends kept on telling me that once in a year what...So, I had to join them...but this day celebration I felt quite happy, compare to Friday....haha...
For the first day of CNY, I was so pity because I had to go to class and until today...Today I really missed Malaysia, for sure not only today, but from the first day until now, I miss Malaysia...At here, I cant feel the CNY coming or had come, because in Malaysia, during this period, I can feel the spring wind blowing my face with hot and dry air...Missing the day before CNY, I helped to clean my house...the reunion dinner with my family...the thanksgiving service at my local church...true friends who had be known for years...and cousins, gambling, the noise of CNY...all the things that make me wanted to go home...However, God always accompany me so I have to be strong enough...Haha...
PS: May God bless my friends and me and lead me Thy way...

First time celebrate CNY in England~~~
Malaysia Singer - Ah Bin (方炯斌) ~~~

I really like this song which is currently playing while you reading my blog...not only the rhythm is nice but the lyric is meaningful either...First time I saw him was the first time I watched a Taiwan Chinese Singing Competition which called "Super Idol"...He attended the show to PK the contestants so that he can promote or sing his song for 1 minute if he won the contestant...When he sang the first phrase of the song, I mean the song he used to PK, I was surprised and I really like his vocal very much, and then I kept searching about his profile and guess what, I found out he is Malaysian who was one of a member of "年少"...This group was or maybe is famous among Malaysia, it reminded me that when I was young, I like this team or band but I cant remember what their songs that I like...haha...paiseh....
Beside that, I also found out that the famous song of his new album was recorded in the end of a drama "牵牛花开的时候", a song called "坏人"...Wow, it is really good drama and with this song, it was perfectly matched...
In the show, I also found out that nowadays, many Malaysian went to Taiwan to start their journey in Chinese Entertainment field and some of them are very talent in composing music such as Gary, Penny and now Ah Bin because in his new album, almost all the songs are composed by himself...Surprisingly, I just found out in the show I had mentioned, there were 2 Malaysia contestants had compete until top 5...Furthermore, I had also watched another singing competition "超级星光大道" and got one Malaysian went there PK as well, and the judges praised his techniques in singing...I am quite proud of them~~~hehe...
Anyway, I just show some support to them but I wont admire them like their fans...Honestly speaking, for listening songs, for me, I will care about the rhythms first, and then the vocal of the singers, and lyrics as well...I dont care how gorgeous are the singers, if their vocals and rhythms suck, I wont like it...haha...seem like I am so critic...
A Week before CNY~~~

Every year at this time, I mean one week before CNY, my parents will busy preparing or buying things to celebrate CNY such as Mandarin oranges, ingredients for CNY's Eve (during this period, all the ingredients will increase the price especially sea-food), and some others decorations...Haiz...miss the smell of the Mandarin Oranges which filled all my house...Missing the time all of my cousins sat together and chatting while gambling...And the most thing to miss is "angpao" (red paper pocket)....haha...
At UK, the BBC here dont exactly celebrate this event, but they do know the traditional of CNY, which is all the family members should gather together and have dinner together...Ya, Chinese like to be "团圆" no matter how far the children they live, at this event, most of the children will try their best to come back to their parents house and celebrate this happy and meaningful event together...Haiz, this year, two of my family members are not at Malaysia and cannot celebrate this event with my parents, that are me and my elder brother who are now at Australia...
Actually, I am planning to have a dinner with the Malaysian Chinese around my area, but dont know they want it or not, just hoping they will like to have steambot if there are many of us...
PS: Sorry, Pa and Ma, I cant celebrate with you two since I dont have holiday during CNY, wish you two have healthy body lor....So do my brothers~~~~
Little Nyonya~~~
In this drama, it said about the culture of Baba Nyonya or "Peranakan" (also means descendants) and the life of Peranakan family in the past...I was so happy to see this drama because it can promote the culture of Peranakan to everyone who saw this drama...Eventhough I am Malaysian, I dont know much about their culture, but I just know that they are Chinese who adopted the Malay customs and combine these two customs together as "Peranakan" culture...The language of the Peranakans, Baba Malay (Bahasa Melayu Baba), is a dialect of the Malay language (Bahasa Melayu), which contains many Hokkein words...Baba refer to men ofPeranakan while Nyonya refer to young women, and for elder women, is Bibi...
Actually before this drama, I saw a television show which was also showed about the culture of Peranakan, but it is a comedy. The "actresses" in the show are Baba, but they acted as Nyonya...The funny of this comedy was the way the actors talking, because I was first time knew about Peranakan, so in their conversation, they use many Hokkein words...Haha....Miss that show...My mother told me about the culture of Peranakan when I was in primary school since she had a Nyonya neighbour last time...She told me that the Nyonya was a "Ma-Jie" who is maid that dont want to marry for whole life...
If you want to know more about Peranakan, you can search with Google or other materials...
PS: Miss Malaysia...haha....
Random~~~
Hmm...its been 2 weeks I dint write my blog already, so now I got mood to write my feeling recently...
These few days, many things happened actually...Firstly is my promise to God was totally broken...I was so selfish to myself and let myself to be the one who He dislike...Haiz...however, I believe that one day, I will be the one He like...
Secondly is, last two days, I read my Taiwanese blog, in his blog, he wrote the differences between Eastern culture and Westhern culture...He mentioned that his housemates washed their plate without using any cleaning liquid, but just water, even though the plates were very oily or dirty...Amazing rite...He did mentioned about the different country people have different pronouncation or use-words in Mandarin...He was interested in people use-words because he is studying English, and PHD some more, means that he like to do research about languages...haha...I felt so funny about that....
Thirdly, this morning, my Malaysian friend told me that my Malay got a little bit "pelik" and he felt that I dint speak Malay frequently...Its true, when I was in Malaysia, I really really "jarang" speak Malay because of almost all of my friends are Chinese, so we either use Mandarin to chat or Hokkein, thats all...Actually, sometimes, I felt that my Hokkein also got a bit retrogress, because this afternoon, when I talked Hokkein with my friends, I felt "pelik" again...haha...Maybe I spoke less, make me felt weird...
PS: I cant upload pictures...Paiseh
Happy New Year 2009~~~
Yoik, its now 2009, although it is 2nd of January, its 2009...New year, new hope, it is the time to start my resolutions:
- my attitude, my temper and my patience
- the time serve God
- starting to eat "Spiritual Food"
from my friend, an e-mail that I felt so touching and remind me a movie called "Money is Not Enough 2" (钱不够用2). Let you all see what is the email like:
They had spent a lot of time to teach you how to use spoons and chopsticks to eat food....
...teach you how to wear clothes, tight your shoes and button up your clothes...
...teach you how to wash your face and how to comb your hair...
...teach you the way to be a good man...
